This annual event is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014
. The course starts off at Brenham High School in scenic and historic Washington County. The Trestle Trail guides runners through Brenham’s beautiful countryside. Paved, winding roads take you past rolling hills covered in Bluebonnets. It's fun for kids and adults alike - especially after crossing the finish line where you get to eat all the Blue Bell you want!
Started in 1978, this race benefits the Brenham High School Athletic Program. Brenham High School athletes serve as volunteers for the race to benefit numerous winning athletic programs, including baseball, track, cross country, golf, volleyball, football, tennis, softball and more. For the last several years, Brenham High School has been in the top 10 high schools in the Lone Star Cup Competition.
Here's what last year's runners are saying:
I loved the atmosphere of the Blue Bell Fun Run. Everyone there, especially the volunteers, is excited and passionate about what they are doing. The course is beautiful. Beautiful scenic run.
My favorite part is that it supports the high school and that the students were so great. It was a wonderfully organized race. I am so impressed with the setup, the facility and the route.
The entire event is very well organized and the price is very reasonable. We have discussed making this a family tradition for myself and my sons.
I enjoyed everything: the course was awesome and the ice cream was great. Packet pick-up went very smooth which really surprised me. Great Job!
I love the excitement and the feel of the event! And, of course the ice cream :)
